To say my life has been changed by saying yes to a mission trip 12 years ago would be a drastic understatement of what God has done in my life through MDC. If you were to tell 15 year-old Kenny that going on a mission trip out to the desert in the summer of 2010 would lead me a decade later to devote my life to the work of Christ through the very group I went with, you would have been met with an incredulous smirk at best.

Well, here I am today, almost 4 years as full time staff for Mision de Candelilla, and my joy is ever growing in delivering the mission that God has called for us here.

The transformative nature of this hidden gem of a mission cannot merely be put into words. It is perhaps a fool’s errand to try and do so.

This goes for anyone who is experiencing the fullness of God’s abundance by saying YES to His call. It is quite overwhelming to take in all that God has done for us, but we are nonetheless commanded to share the love of Christ to the world! To all people, Christians and non-believers alike.

You will not only be reading posts from us, but other passionate lovers of Christ who seek to share the gospel of Christ in their own unique way! And we are so incredibly excited to offer our platform to overflow into the lives of our mission family and beyond. From pastors to plumbers, our hope is to shine a light further on Christ through our friends from all walks of life.

My hope for this space is for our writers to use their voice to edify and encourage, and my prayer is that their creativity, brilliance, insight, and testimonies serve as a blessing to all who read them. For the sake of the Kingdom of God, the Body of Christ, and the lost and broken who have yet to find their hope in Jesus Christ.

To my friends in Mexico, I miss you and I pray that this can be yet another space for us to send blessings your way when we are here in the States!
